Dominated by Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest peak (4,810 metres), Chamonix is the legendary world capital of mountaineering and alpine skiing. More than just a ski resort, Chamonix is a small, lively and very international town. It offers a diverse range of sporting activities and extreme sports as well as breath-taking panoramic scenery.
With four main areas for skiing (Les Grands Montets, Le Brévent, La Flégère and La Tour), Chamonix offers a ski area for both beginners and experienced skiers alike. Chamonix is also renowned for the world famous Vallée Blanche descent, over 13 miles (22 km) off-piste to cover with a guide.
In the evening, the streets are bustling with restaurants, cafés and bars catering for a sporty and cosmopolitan clientele.
