Northeast Sardinia with its crystal-clear water is stunning. Small beaches with white sand are paradise for lovers of relaxation and boat excursions. Relatively untouched until 1958, the year the Aga Khan was enticed by it, the Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast) evolved into a coastal resort in the 60s with two main centres today: Porto Cervo, a local Saint-Tropez with its jet set, luxury shops, restaurants, bars, night clubs and golf courses and the calmer Porto Escondido.
